A room in honor of the writer of the avant-garde theories and the inspiration of many avant-garde artists, could not be missing from our Torel Avantgarde, based in the center of Porto.
Our boutique hotel represents this poet in one of its rooms with a balcony, an Executive Superior, that shocks those who enter, due to the use of black in contrast with the wood.
This contrast represents the two opposite sides of the avant-garde, intensity on the one hand and lightness on the other.

Meet the artist Guillaume Apollinaire...

Wilhelm Albert Vladimir Apollinarie Kostrowitzky was a French poet, playwright, poem writer, novelist and art critic who became famous for experimental verse.

Guillaume Apollinaire was part of several avant-garde movements in French literature and art in the early 20th century.
His work is generally focused on the clash between the modern and the traditional, often juxtaposing drastically different stylistic elements.

 Some of his main works:

The eleven thousand rods;
The poet assassinated;
Calligrams;
Les peintres cubistes, méditations esthétiques.
