MEET THE ARTIST JANIS JOPLIN...

Titled the "Queen of Rock and Roll", Janis Lyn Joplin was an American singer and songwriter, "the greatest rock, blues and soul singer of the 60s".

Her concept of life was to “turn everything upside down”, revolutionizing the concept of “the norm, the common”, also with the help of drugs.

Her musical style was heavily influenced by renowned jazz and blues: Etta James, Big Mama Thornton, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Odetta and Leadbelly.

Her addiction to alcohol and drugs shortened her life and career, leaving only four albums to his legacy.
